Gamma Numbers & Local Founders
Delta Chi's use "Gamma Numbers" that progress in alphabetical sequence according to each pledge class. There where 24 Founding Brothers of sworn into the Bond of Delta Chi on May 15, 1971 and that corresponds with the exact number of letters in the Greek Alphabet. Hence each brother was given a unique number: ΓΑ-1, ΓΒ-1, ΓΓ-1, etc.
By the time of the official chartering on October 13, 1972 several Phi Delta Psi brothers had returned from the armed services or returned to the University. Hence our founders list is longer than the first 24. Some returning ΦΔΨ brothers did not receive Gamma Numbers according to our records.

The Officer elections where modified this year so that Officer where elected for a calendar year instead of an academic year to insure a more fluid transition of leadership and to have an experienced leadership team in place over the summer months when the University tended to make numerous rule changes related to housing.
